About Information

Greyhounds make wonderful pets. Monmore Green (Wolverhampton)Retired Greyhound Trust Kennels are based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands and usually have between 40 and 50 dogs looking for caring homes. We have a mixture of larger dogs and smaller bitches in a variety of colours. We also often have "unraced" hounds who may be suited to living with cats. All are neutered, innoculated, flea-treated, wormed and I.D. Microchipped. In addition we endeavour to assist local and national rescue organisations to home pet greyhounds and we have been successful in finding homes for greyhounds throughout the Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire and indeed further afield. The Kennels are run by Mike and Alison, with the help of staff members; Andy, Kay and Jo. We are also fortunate to have valuable help from many volunteers. The kennels are open to the public on weekdays between 10a.m. and 2p.m. and weekends between 10a.m. and 1p.m. for viewing and selecting of hounds. On the last Saturday and Sunday of every month we hold a "Sponsor Dog Weekend" where you can bring your hound up to the kennel to get their nails cut and meet other owners for advice and a chat and we hold a raffle to raise funds for our VIP's. We also offer an I.D. Microchipping service for your dogs and have worming treatments for sale, all proceeds of which go to the trust to help find homes for the hounds. We require a successful homecheck and a donation before we home a hound. There is also a sponsor scheme available for anyone who wishes to help but cannot actually home a Greyhound. Please see our website for further details.
