About Us

Friends of the Dogs Wales main constitutional aims are to promote the dogs for re-homing and fundraising to provide state of the art kenneling facilities for the homeless stray and abandoned dogs in o

Friends of the Dogs (Wales) works in partnership with their Local Authority Pound. Their primary aim is to fundraise to rebuild the rather dilapidated council kennels, which are 30 years old. They also have an ambitious kennel and environmental enrichment program, and within just 18 months of starting up  have introduced a number of innovative schemes. which include  'Special Friends' and 'Playmates' in addition to our walkers register, to ensure that all of their community, regardless of abilities or circumstance, can experience and enjoy spending time with the dogs in their care. Friends also assists dogs who need 'special' help, either veterinary treatment or behavioural support prior to and post rehoming. Although Friends work closely with the Council, they do not receive any funding. All of their supporters and volunteers are unpaid, every single penny gifted for the benefit of the dogs gets locked into the appropriate fund, kennel fund, vet fund or enrichment fund.
