About Us

Abandoned Animals Association are a charity based in Prestatyn, who work to provide accommodation, fostering and veterinary services for animals that are in need of care and protection.

In September 2010 the charity opened their centre at Little Pydew, and have since become a centre of excellence for rescued animals. The charity has a non-destruction policy which is strictly adhered to. The only animals which are humanely put to sleep are those with untreatable illnesses.

As soon as they arrive all animals are scanned to discover whether by chance they are microchipped and this helps to re-unite quite a number of dogs and cats with their relieved owners. The charity are supported entirely by voluntary donations, and it was the generosity of the members and the residents of the North Wales area that enabled the charity to finally open their rescue centre.

In terms of accommodation, the centre has enough space for sixteen dogs and eight cats, with a 1.5 acre fenced-off field which enables the dogs to have the opportunity to run free and enjoy the company of others. There is also an agility course on the field which provides fun and training for the dogs.

The association works endlessly to find the animals in their care new forever homes. If you think you could adopt a pet then get in touch with the Abandoned Animals Association today!
