They rely entirely on the support of the generous pet loving public to continue the work that they do. Their vision is for a world where every dog is loved and has a safe home - something that everyone at Support Adoption For Pets echoes.
Their rehoming site houses 100 strays, all looking for a family to call their own. Stray dogs are received at both homes from Monday to Saturday from local authority dog wardens and when capacity permits, they also try to help those members of the public anxious to find new homes for their much-loved pets because a change in circumstances has created the situation where they simply can no longer cope with them. By offering this service they believe they can prevent dogs being turned out into the street by people in desperate situations.
Support Adoption For Pets have been long supporters of Birmingham Dogs Home and we have supported them via our Charity Partnership scheme and our Grant Award Scheme for a couple of years now.
In fact, Birmingham Dogs Home were one of the lucky 10 UK rehoming centres to receive one of our celebration grants back in July 2014. Their application for support to renovate their kennels with the addition of some state of the art, noise limiting kennels was of great interest to our Trustees; as they are aware how kennel noise can be be very distressing to a pet and a distressed pet is much harder to rehome.
In addition to awarding them a grant recently, we continue to show our support of the rescue via our Charity Partnership Scheme - donating to them following our national fundraising drives and providing them with an additional platform to promote the work that they do.
